About

The purpose of this site is to promote awareness of the cultural significance of Life Forms houses, and inform residents of The Woodlands, Texas of the blatant disregard The Woodlands Township has for local history—one that has direct ties to founder George P. Mitchell.

According to a recent decision (2024) by The Woodlands Township, these architecturally unique houses can now be demolished and replaced with contemporary structures that do not aesthetically match existing Life Forms homes, and subsequently do not fit into planned streets and neighborhoods.

Life Forms, for the uninitiated, is an architectural style unique to The Woodlands, with a high concentration in the older part of the development. These nature-inspired houses reflect the idyllic forest setting that makes The Woodlands a desirable refuge from the concrete jungle of Houston.
